Margaret Mary "Peggy" Vallone (nee Conallen), age 82, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025. Born May 12, 1943, in West Philadelphia, Peggy lived most of her life in Northeast Philadelphia first on Aberdale Rd and then Wissinoming St. Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Peggy was a proud 1961 graduate of St. Hubert's High School in Philadelphia. Her deep-rooted faith as a devoted Catholic guided her throughout her life and was reflected in the love and care she gave to her family and community. In 1974 She started working at Pathmark supermarket, a career that lasted for over 35 years.
She shared a long and loving marriage with her husband, Ronald C. Vallone. Together they built a large family that became the center of Peggy's world. She was the cherished mother of eleven children: Donna Marie Hedgepeth, (Jim), Thomas Vallone (Bernadette), Ronald Vallone (Michele), James Vallone, Susan Vallone (Seamus), Denise Zalewski (Bob), Michael Vallone (Jennifer), Jacqueline Herrman (John), Nicole Royds (Brian), Kathleen Ruzzo (Bernie) and Shannon Blaszczyk (Mike).
Peggy's legacy continues through her 26 grandchildren: James Hedgepeth, Amanda O'Rourke (Colin), Patrick Hedgepeth (Ally), Connor Hedgepeth, Tori Vallone, Matt Vallone, Joey Vallone, Ronnie Vallone, Gavin Vallone, Madison Vallone, Jimmy Vallone, Quinn Geoghegan, Anna Zalewski, Emily Zalewski, Isabella Vallone, Mikey Vallone, Ava Herrman, Addison Herrman, Leah Royds, Haley Royds, Brian Royds, Juliette Ruzzo, Harrison Ruzzo, Noah Ruzzo, Michael Blaszczyk and Lukas Blaszczyk-and 2 great grandchildren-Claire and Watson.
She is also survived by her loving sister Marie Bowditch and her 3 nieces and 2 nephews: Heather, Christy, Brian, Dennis and Kim. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Conallen.
Family meant everything to Peggy. She found immense joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Whether gathered around the dinner table, celebrating birthdays and milestones, traveling to watch their games and recitals, or celebrating the holidays, especially Christmas where she was commonly referred to as Mrs. Claus, Peggy's presence brought warmth and unity to every occasion.
Her unwavering devotion to her faith and family leaves an enduring impression on all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and continue to inspire generations to come. In honor of Peggy's proud Irish heritage, "May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand."
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church 136 Saxer Ave. Springfield, PA 19064 followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
