Memorial Service
Edward H. McBride Funeral Home
11:00 am - 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
The family of John “Jack” Keenan is deeply saddened to announce his passing on March 18, 2026 after a battle with cancer. Born on December 7, 1958, in Philadelphia, PA, Jack lived a life full of love, adventure, entertainment and service to others. Jack spent his life serving others and bringing entertainment and fun to all whose paths he crossed. Jack served the City of Philadelphia first as a prison guard, and upon graduating the police academy, worked as a police officer in the 16th district. Jack was known around the city for his karaoke shows and love for music. He wasn’t just the life of the party; he was the party. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He is survived by his daughters Aubrey and Jenelle; seven grandchildren; his brothers and sister; his nieces and nephews; his longtime friends Christine Irwin, Harry Taylor and Michele Pomponi; and his close friends from Johnny Apples that became family to him. A memorial will be held March 26, 2026 at McBride Funeral Home, 2321 Huntingdon St. Philadelphia, PA 19125 from 11am-1pm. Special acknowledgment to Jack’s niece and godchild Danielle, and his friends Harry, Christine, Michele and Laurie. They were instrumental in helping Jack throughout his illness and keeping him comfortable until the very end. Live like Jack… “We’re not here for a long time; we’re here for a good time! Cheers!”
